The flagship newspaper of China's ruling Communist Party called Saturday for efforts to "resolutely crush" anti-government demonstrations by Tibetans, while Beijing urged people to turn in those on a "Most Wanted" list of 21 protesters.

China said 19 people died in riots in the Tibetan capital last week and official media warned against the unrest spreading to the northwest region of Xinjiang, where Uighur Muslims bridle under Chinese control.

Bloomberg - Olympics Boycott Chatter Grows
The latest bit of conventional wisdom to be challenged is that the Aug. 8-24 Olympics would proceed with the precision of a referee's stopwatch. Tibetans planned a protest Saturday at the Jama Masjid, old Delhi’s principle mosque, amid of string of protests in India and Tibet — including one that turned violent and left at least 10 people dead.

NPR - Calls for Olympic Boycott Follow Tibet Crackdown
China's crackdown on protesters in Tibet has left at least 10 people dead, but the International Olympic Committee is asking countries not to boycott the Beijing Olympics, saying a boycott would only hurt athletes.
